I am originally from Kirksville, Missouri, and currently reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia where I study history and historic preservation at the University of Mary Washington. My interests are threefold:
- The conservation, digitization, and public accessibility of archival records.
- Small-scale museum and archive administration focusing on organizational longevity and local community interaction.
- Community-centric urban design, preservation of historic neighborhoods, and the adaptive reuse and revitalization of at-risk historic properties.
I am a student worker for Special Collections and University Archives at UMW’s Simpson Library. I have worked on a number of projects, including the Mutual Assurance Society transcription project, the Aldie Mill Ledger digitization project with Loudoun Museum and the Papers of James Monroe, photo and book digitization, and rare book inventory management. I also designed the VA 250 exhibit, which was on display at Simpson Library from December 2025 through May 2026.
I am one of two Bowley Scholars at the James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library in Fredericksburg for the 2026-2027 academic year. My work at James Monroe Museum includes collections organization and processing, as well as event and program assistance, kid interactives design, and display design.
I designed adaircohistorical.org for the Adair County Historical Society and Museum in Kirksville, MO. I currently act as the web manager for the site. I previously volunteered in high school and worked with obituary records and long-form transcription. I also wrote an article for The Adair Historian, which was published in January 2024. For Summer 2026, I updated their in-house collections inventory database and added a digital catalogue of publications and merchandise.
